Thank you to all of the participants who signed up and attended our first Member Hockey: The Ultimate Shinny game Monday night.
Although the game looks a little different, it is so awesome that during a global pandemic, we can still play the game we love!
Keeping our members, staff and Club protected is our top priority.
Your committee and management came up with a return to play plan that supports this and also allows us to find a new way to play.
After seeing our plan in action and because of your diligence in following our safety protocol, we are pleased to let you know we will be updating some of our policies!
- Games are 5 on 5
- There are 14 players and 1 goalie permitted per side which will open up more spaces for members to play.
An additional bench will be added behind each player's bench to facilitate the additional players.
Even though these adjustments are being made, we remind you of the importance of following all safety guidelines in both our Club's Covid-19 Member Manual and our Return to Play Member Hockey Manual.
GROUP SKATING LESSONS
Our group skating lessons begin on October 17th and October 19th.
With reduced group sizes, spaces are filling fast. Be sure to register early and let’s work on our skating this fall just in time for the awesome Winnipeg winter season!

Our Monday Night House kicked off this past Monday. The league runs almost every Monday night and can be joined at any time, it's never too late. Each week, players that respond to the weekly email saying they would like to play, get set up with a match at a set time. It's a great way to keep active with a set weekly squash game and a great way to meet new squash playing partners!

Out of respect for other WWC Members, we ask that if you are no longer able to make it to a class you have registered for that you please cancel your spot at least 12 hours prior to the class taking place.
CHANGES TO SOME CLASS MAX GROUP SIZES
As we continue to evaluate all our fitness programming, some class sizes may increase or decrease in the coming weeks and months. Due to member feedback and discussions with the instructor our Wednesday 6:15 am and our Friday 6:30 am classes have both increased max capacity to 12 participants.
Please be sure that you are picking a towel and bottle of disinfectant as you enter the fitness area to spray down all equipment and touch points prior to and after use. We also ask that you put the towel in the laundry bin and the spray bottle in the red container as you exit the gym.
THANK YOU FOR DOING YOUR PART!
From all of us in the Fitness Department, we want to say thank you all very much for everything you all have been doing to keep the WWC staff and other members safe. From physical distancing to new protocols, we greatly appreciate the extra effort everyone is making.

We are in a Pandemic. Please follow ALL guidelines and protocols that we have put in place, no exceptions. We have these in place to protect our Club, its members and its employees!
Please keep in mind that everyone's level of caution is different and what you may perceive as being okay may not be for others. We all must continue to work together to ensure the Club is a safe and comfortable environment for everyone to enjoy.
With active cases of COVID-19 continuing to fluctuate in Manitoba, we would like to remind all Members to remain diligent in following procedures and play your part in ensuring the safety of all members and employees of the Winnipeg Winter Club. Please remember the following:
• Do not visit the Club if you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or generally feeling unwell. If symptoms persist get tested and have a confirmed negative result before returning to the Club.
• Do not visit the Club for 14 days if you have recently traveled to Eastern Canada (east of Terrace Bay) or internationally.
• Maintain physical distancing of 2 metres from other members, guests, and employees with the exception of brief interactions and those you are dining with.
• Wash or sanitize your hands frequently and upon entering and exiting buildings.
• Cover coughs and sneezes.
