Remember growing up, that old wives tale of don’t go swimming for 30 minutes after you eat, otherwise you’ll cramp up? Well, there is some truth behind that!
We ask you don’t eat meals or anything too large before coming into the pool for the simple fact of digestion! It takes a bit to digest that heavy meal you just ate (which is where the 30 minutes comes from). We try to avoid eating heavy foods before swimming because in the event some water gets swallowed (let’s face it, it happens to the best of us), there runs a higher risk of something coming back up.
