General

We have been following all Manitoba Provincial guidelines and Public Health Orders throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic and we will continue to do so.

Beginning at 12:01am on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, Gyms & fitness centres, indoor sporting and recreational facilities will be limited to 50% capacity or 250 people, whichever is less, with proof of double vaccination.

Due to the fact we have been operating very safely by limiting our capacities, this should have limited effect on member activity in the facility. We will continue to update members on programming numbers.

Masks will continue to be mandatory on all common areas but can be removed during activity or during your sport of choice.

We will continue with our “constantly cleaning” mentality. High touch points will be cleaned and disinfected multiple times a day for a daily deep clean.

We have something exciting coming to the club in 2022!
BOGAFiT is an innovative fitness program that builds strength, deepens flexibility, and improves balance and coordination through a carefully selected set of movements on the FiTMAT. BOGAFiT exercises both enhance the benefits of traditional fitness movements while eliminating the harsh impacts of these exercises, creating high intensity workouts on water with low impact on your body.
As there is no other training modality that can mimic the benefits of the FiTMAT, this is going to revolutionize the definition of exercise.
Keep your eyes out for it in the pool and classes during the day, evening and weekend!

We have been following all Manitoba Provincial guidelines and Public Health Orders throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic and we will continue to do so.

As of December 6th, all 12 - 17 year olds participating in sport or as a spectator, will have to have had a first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

If a 12 - 17 year old will not get the vaccine, they do have the option to get a rapid antigen test at a pharmacy and they would have to produce a negative test within 72 hours of participating or spectating at a sport venue.

All 12 - 17 year olds that have received a first dose of the vaccine, will have to show proof, with either a print out or webview + government issued id (school identification is acceptable).

There is no testing option for 18+. They must be fully vaccinated.
Children 11 and under will be able to attend events and activities as per usual.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the actual test? Anti-gen or PCR?
Rapid Antigen Test approved by a pharmacist 72 hours prior to entering a facility

What is acceptable proof of vaccination for 12-17 year olds?
Proof of vaccination can be printed or saved to phone from shared health

Is there more than one option?
Proof of vaccination (one dose or two) or a negative Antigen Test confirmed by a pharmacist. Other options are not yet known. Provincial testing sites are not to be used for testing for this Public Health Order.

Cost of test(s)?
Prices determined by the pharmacies (Note: Chair of Pharmacist’s Association was quoted in Winnipeg Free Press earlier this fall saying range is $50-100, other sources suggest $40 on average)

72-hour requirement – within?
72 hours prior to entering facility for a game or practice – or to watch a game or practice as a spectator

Will vaccination be required if 5 – 11 years are approved for the vaccine?
To be determined. There are no Public Health Orders yet for 5-11 year olds. This may become clearer as the vaccination rollout begins for 5-11 year olds.

BE A SANTA TO A SENIOR

The WWC is teaming up with Home Instead for ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ this Christmas.
Home Instead works with nursing homes to provide gifts to seniors who might not otherwise receive gifts come the holidays. The Home Instead crew collect the donations and give out the gifts to brighten the lives of seniors in Winnipeg.
Make Christmas special for the elderly in need and become a Santa for a Senior! Get more information or select a senior at Reception.
