It’s been 5 months since we have been able to play hockey games at the WWC and now there is finally information on when hockey may be able to start again.

It is our top priority to keep our members, staff and community protected and in doing that, we have been following the recommendations of our top regional health specialists and the provincial level sport representatives. We are confident that the combination of procedures Hockey Manitoba has provided as well as the WWC’s internal policies will have you back on the ice playing as soon as it is safe to do so.

On July 31st, Hockey Manitoba released their Return to Play draft plan. In the draft, the Return to Play plan is broken down into 3 phases. Phase 1 started June 1st and phase 2 was officially approved today by the government with only phase 3 left to be approved.

Thankfully on ice skill development was in phase 1 which has allowed us to have our Skills & Drills program each Wednesday at 6:45 am. Game play however is not permitted until phase 3. While that phase is still awaiting approval from our government, we are one step closer to the return of Member Hockey. I look forward to bringing you more updates and confirmed timelines in the near future!

Skating lessons will be returning this Fall! Check out the program guide when it launches this Saturday, August 15th online or by picking up a printed copy at the front desk for all program details and guidelines in order to safely return to lessons.
