Please review our Tennis Policy, the objective of which is to provide fair access to all Winnipeg Winter Club members and to ensure the highest possible utilization of the courts.
(Programs are for members only. Non-members please contact the Club for membership information)
Enjoy tennis year round on our three premiere plexipave indoor courts. An active schedule of leagues and clinics for adults and juniors of all levels run on a weekly basis.
A variety of social nights, hitting clinics, recreation programs, competitive junior programs, club tournaments and family fun nights are offered to members.
Free court time is included for casual bookings and drop-in play is available for member use seven days a week. Members have 3 day booking privileges.
Head Professional Peter Otto and his qualified assistants run Junior and Adult Programs. You can take a lesson to hone your skills or practice alone with the ball machine.
There is a program for everyone no matter their age or skill level.
We will provide a clean and safe facility for all our members to enjoy, with the support of our friendly and knowledgeable professional staff. We will provide members of all ages and abilities with quality tennis instruction through a wide range of programs in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We strive to provide a competitive structure that will ensure a healthy and stimulating environment for our young developing players.

On the squash, badminton and tennis courts; we ask that you wear non marking shoes. Any shoes that do mark will damage the courts, general rule of thumb- if they have dark soles they will mark. Please ask any of the racquet sports pros if you are unsure. We ask that all those participating in any sport are dressed in the appropriate attire. Please no jeans, cut-offs or muscles shirts.

Peter Otto - Head Tennis Professional
Peter is now in his 9th year as Head Pro at The Winnipeg Winter Club after serving 2 years as assistant pro. For many years he was Provincial Coach and Tennis Manitoba's Technical Director. Peter was travelling coach to many Junior Nationals Events and led 9 Western and Canada Summer Games Teams. Team bronze at 2009 Summer games and Team Silver at the 2011 Canada games were his games coaching hilights. He has successfully trained many local Juniors to achieve College scholarships and success on their Tennis Teams. He belongs to Canadian Tennis Professional association and is working on completing his Level III Coaching Certification. In Summers, he is in his 15th year as the Head Pro/Manager at Kildonan Tennis Club. When time allows, Peter continues to compete and still be among the top doubles players in the province. He won 3 consecutive National Senior Doubles titles from 2009-2011.
Emerson Gusmini- Full time Assistant Tennis Coach
Emerson is a former player from Brazil who competed in many professional level ITF Satelite events. As a coach, he has more than 25 years of experience teaching players of all levels. In Brazil, he coached 20+ juniors to a top 10 National Ranking. Many of them number 1 singles and/or doubles. Many of his juniors earned Tennis scholarships to American Universities. He has also coached players at the ATP and WTA futures and challenger levels. He is a Master Tennis Coach in Brazil, attended ITF courses level 1,2 and 3. In Canada, he is currently in the acceleration process for coach 3. Emerson is in his 2nd year as Head Coach at Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club during the summer months.
Olga Berdynskykh-Full Time Tennis Assistant Pro
Olga has been working as an Assistant Coach at the Winnipeg Winter Club since October 2009.
Professionally trained as a coach and as a player in one of the best sport school of the Eastern European block, National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine, She has competed in numerous tournaments in the Soviet Union and Ukraine.Olga has a wealth of experience and knowledge of coaching students of all levels, ages and abilities. Several of Olga’s students have achieved success on national, European and international levels.
Sean Grassie - Part Time Tennis Assistant
Sean has been an assistant tennis pro at the WWC since 2006. Also a competitive curler, Sean won the 2009 Canadian mixed championship and won a bronze medal at the world mixed doubles. A graduate of Creative Communications, Sean wrote a curling history book entitled "Kings of the Rings". Since 1996, Sean has been the head pro and manager at the Deer Lodge Tennis Club. He is also the tournament director/communications director and an instructor for Tennis Manitoba.
Alex Lesiuk- Part Time Tennis Assistant
Alex is a Tennis Canada Club Pro 1 Certified tennis coach with 7 years experience coaching tennis in Manitoba. As Well as being an Assistant Pro at WWC, Alex is in his 2nd year as the Assistant Pro at Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club. He holds a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science and is a Certified Personal Trainor.
