Fitness Centre Orientations

Be sure you know how to properly utilize a piece of fitness equipment and know what a certain machine can do for you.

YOGA & PILATES

ASHTANGA YOGA
To bring focus to your week and start the day off right with an Ashtanga yoga class with Meagan. Work out the tension during your week and renew your energy in this fabulous yoga class!
When: Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 am

FLOW YOGA
This 60 minute class will take your yoga training to the next level. This flow yoga class is great for all levels. Come work with our fabulous instructor Meagan as she takes you through a series of progressions throughout the session.

Prana Stretch
This 90 minute class is a yoga inspired bodywork session where you will passively receive the benefits of yoga. Meagan (Certified Pranassage Practitioner) will guide you through a slow, deeply relaxing practice of restorative yoga while you receive grounding hands-on adjustments. She will physically move your body (think of yourself as a marionette) into positions allowing you the pleasure and time to experience a deep state of relaxation. The intention of this hands-on, therapeutic approach is to slow down the mind, let go, and witness the depth of your own “prana” or life force energy. Come and feel the magic of “prana” and experience bliss! Please note: Space is limited to ensure plenty of hands-on assists between practitioner and receiver.

We are pleased to now offer Private Pilates and Yoga sessions here at The Winnipeg Winter Club.
It is highly recommended that if you are looking to get into Pilates or Yoga that you start with a few private or small group classes to ensure that you are getting the most out of every class and every workout.

FITNESS TRAINING
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING CLASS
This workout is designed for those who like to get a jump start to their day. Be prepared to work hard and see results from this intense one hour workout. This class will keep your heart rate elevated while combining weight training and aerobic exercises for maximal efficiency! Be prepared to work hard because our instructors will push you to bring out your very best!

STRETCH CLASSES
STRETCH SPECTACULAR
Offered right after both 9:30 am morning classes each Monday, this is a class that will help stretch your mind and body. With an approach of going through a wide variety of stretches this 30 minute class will help your body relax and release the tension that has developed through a hard workout.

NEW! From the Ground Up Recovery Class
Join Angela Pringle in the Studio for an hour of rejuvenation! This class is designed for the fast paced mind. Come and enjoy slow movement with breath while moving in bare feet and connecting with your inner spirit. Relaxing movements and stretches are performed with the extension of increasing range of motion at all joints and allowing the body to recover after a long week.

CARDIO / CIRCUIT TRAINING PROGRAMS
JACKIE DOBIE’S 60 MINUTE CIRCUIT TRAINING CLASS
Testing the limits with a total body workout, this class is geared to individuals with previous weight training experience. It is challenging, educational, social and FUN! Participate 2-3
times/week for optimal results.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT
Interested in learning more about your body, a chronic injury, or a movement pattern you don’t understand? If so, the Functional Movement Assessment is for you!
This 60-90 minute process is stacked with valuable information about your body. We take static photos of your frame, videos of your movement patters and talk about your goals moving forward.
Following the assessment an individualized profile will be provided to you. In this folder you will find: your static photos, baseline figures, goal setting sheets and specific exercise lists detailing all the movement homework aligning you with your goals.

NUTRITIONAL COACHING
Interested in learning more about fuel for your body? What should you be eating to ensure your body is oiled optimally and ready to produce optimal results? Booking a Nutritional Coaching Session will allow you the opportunity to identify current ating habits, habits in need of change and habits you should adopt to find success in healthy eating for optimal functioning.

ACTIVE LIVING FOR OLDER ADULTS
"ACTIVE FUNCTIONAL LIVING FOR OLDER ADULTS"
For: All members over 50 years of age.
When: Tuesday @ 1:30 pm & Fridays @ 11:00 am
Where: All classes will be based out of the Fitness Studio

Sport Mobility and Regeneration
Movement is life! Learn how increased mobility can improve workout outcomes and can transfer into success in sport and life.

This workshop will help your body recover faster, increase your functional range of motion, improve muscle pliability, decrease muscle soreness and enhance your body’s flexibility and mobility.

ViPR TRAINING
ViPR Athletic Group Circuit Training (12 weeks)
This 1 hour high energy workout is based around 1 piece of equipment: the ViPR. Yes, it is that good! Lift, tilt, drag, and throw this exciting new training tool to drive metabolic cost in a whole-body workout that is innovative, dynamic and fun. Workouts will include a dynamic warm up, full-body strength training, core strength, metabolic circuits and mobility training. Come and experience the ViPR, as we work individually and collectively towards our fitness goals.
